"I'm nobody" poem

The speaker isn't really nobody. Someone has to be talking, that person calls his/herself nobody.
It's an outcast.

The speaker's mood is playful because she is talking to the other person like with a shouting tone. it can also be interpret as sad because it is sad to be nobody. To be ignored. The poem's moodis sarcastic because of the expressions it shows.

The theme is somebody that has nobody and feels like nobody. The poem is really representing somebody that is alone, that has nobody or feels like nobody.

The desire of beign alone does not always mean bad health, sometimes it's helpful to be alone and think about what you're going through if that's the case, but sometimes you should try socializing because you need someone to talk to even if you think you don't.

Some reasons of being alone are personal problems or family problems or that you are insecure and you don't have the capacity of making friends, or maybe you like being independent.

When someone rejects are company we feel sad and disappointed. You feel hopeless
and you don't start making friends until long time passes. The problem could be about the 2 persons, maybe one has too many flaws for the other one, but you don't reject, you try to fix the problem.

This poem relates to speak because Melinda is also an outcast and she also feels invisible and like nobody.

The poem relates to the quote in speak because Heather tells Melinda that nobody knows her and that she doesn't do anything but it's really because she wants to be this way.

Elephant Poem

I imagine the speaker in this poem being a teenager girl that has gone through suffering or has a problem.

The "elephant" is a specific problem. They talk about other stuff ignoring the big problem.

If they talk about the elephant they would know what is going on and how is the problem advancing or getting better. They could probably think of a solution or do something to make it better, to feel better.

In my opnion the mood of this poem is mysterious because we don't know what the elephant is so a sensation of wanting to know what is going on. Curious but also gloomy because I imagine something serious is happening.

The author uses quotes like "how are you" and "I'm fine". This is effective because the reader can see that the conversation inside the room is very awkward and uncomftrable. It demonstrates that no one wants to talk the topic because it would be rude or not appropiate but it also shows everyone knows what is going on and somehow want to talk about it.

This poem relates to speak because the problem might be a girl has been raped and everybody know but nobody wants to bring it up because it might not be the time. I've had elephants in the room but long time ago so I really don't remember what they were.
